waapp.me is a free productivity tool built by AE Lab, an independent solo developer based in Malaysia. AE Lab builds simple, privacy-focused tools that solve real everyday problems — without the bloat, the paywalls, or the unnecessary data collection that comes with most software today.

waapp.me is our flagship product. It does one thing, and it does it well: let you send a WhatsApp message to any phone number without saving it to your contacts first. No sign-up, no installation, no cost. Just open the page, enter a number, and start the conversation.

Today, waapp.me serves over 4,000 daily active users across more than 50 countries worldwide — from individual users managing personal enquiries to customer service teams handling hundreds of conversations a day.

How It Started

waapp.me wasn't built for the market. It was built to solve a frustration I ran into constantly in daily life.

Think about how often you need to message someone you've never spoken to before. You're looking for a place to rent and need to contact several property agents — "Can you tell me the exact address? Could you send me the location?" You're interested in something you saw online and want to ask the person listing it a quick question — "Is this still available? What's the price?" You found a service provider through a recommendation and want to check their availability. In every one of these situations, you have a number, you need to send one message, and you may never contact this person again.

But WhatsApp doesn't let you do that. It requires you to save the number as a contact first. So you open your contacts app, tap "Add New", try to come up with a name that will still make sense three weeks from now, save it, go back to WhatsApp, find the contact, and then — finally — start the conversation. And when it's done, you have to remember to go back and delete it. Nobody remembers to delete it. Months later, your contact list is full of people you don't recognise, numbers with vague names you gave them in a hurry, and strangers you'll never message again.

I built waapp.me to skip all of that. Enter the number, open WhatsApp, done. No saving, no naming, no cleaning up afterwards. I made it for myself — and then a few friends asked to use it, and then more people, and it quickly became clear that this wasn't a personal problem. It was something a huge number of people dealt with every single day.

The first version launched as an Android app on Google Play. The response was better than expected. People used it daily, and the AdMob advertising revenue that followed was the most honest feedback we could have received — not just downloads, but genuine, repeated daily use. People were coming back because the tool was genuinely saving them time.

We later expanded to the web, so that anyone on any device — iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac — could use it without installing anything at all. The goal has always been the same: get to the conversation as quickly as possible, and leave no mess behind.

What Problem Does waapp.me Solve?

WhatsApp is used by over two billion people worldwide. It is the default way people communicate in dozens of countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. But despite its scale, WhatsApp has one persistent design limitation: you cannot message someone unless you have saved their number as a contact on your device.

For casual personal use, this is rarely a problem. But for anyone who regularly needs to contact new people — people they may only need to message once — this becomes a genuine daily friction point. You save numbers you don't need, your contact list grows with people you don't know, and the time spent managing this adds up quickly.

waapp.me removes this friction entirely. It works by generating a direct WhatsApp deep link for any phone number, which opens the chat in WhatsApp immediately — without requiring the number to be saved first. The whole process takes under ten seconds and works on every platform that supports WhatsApp.

No data is collected. No accounts are required. The number you enter and the message you type never leave your browser. waapp.me is purely a bridge — it gets you into the conversation and then gets out of the way.
